One Warm Coat

One Warm Coat is a national non-profit (501c3) organization that helps individuals, groups, companies, and organizations across the country collect coats. These coats are then delivered to local agencies that distribute them free, to people in need. More than one million coats have been provided to those in need, at no cost, since its inception in 1992.

Singer Ms Lilly Renee is dedicated to this worthy cause having collected coats for the last 4 years. A community advocate in the city of Oakland, Ms Renee is the spokeswoman for A Safe Place Women's Shelter. Her latest role is that of the newly created Community Events Director, for the East Bay Loop Online Concierge, the first of its kind in the San Francisco Bay Area.

All coats collected this year will be donated to the “City of Oakland’s 19th Annual One Warm Coat Giveaway & Thanksgiving Dinner”. This event serves a free holiday meal to over 2,000 low-income families, homeless, and senior citizens in the Bay Area and also allows them to recieve a free warm coat on the very same day. The Annual Thanksgiving Dinner, being held on Tuesday November 23, 2010, is sponsored by: the Oakland Marriott, Oakland’s Department of Human Services, Communities United Committee, and the Emergency Food Providers Advisory Committee.
