M.I.A. = Moving in Action

January started off BIG!!!!  We moved into the new Black Pearl Entertainment office! We are proud of our new space and are putting the final décor touches into place.  Look for the ribbon cutting ceremony soon.
At the end of January, we headed down to Southern California for the Women in PR L.A. Boot Camp.  On the drive down to Los Angeles -c got her first speeding ticket-#epicfail.  After that fiasco, the ladies of Black Pearl set out for a day of networking.  Held at the ultra-modern SLS Hotel, the 2-day camp is the brain-child of Anje Collins who’s set up WIPR Boot Camps in cities across the United States.  A day of classes confirmed we were rocking it out for our clients.  We met a host of beautiful ladies and later that weekend connected with our L.A. client.  After a day of rest, we headed home to attend the play, Ghetto Magnolia, written by screenwriter Dawn Blair (@dawnblair2). The play was directed by our own Jonez Cain.  We couldn’t have been more proud of their production.

Meetings, focus groups, and occasional dance-offs have occurred in the office this month.  This has also been a month of outings.  We were fortunate to be the guests of Anje Collins for the Rock the Runway SF, highlighting domestic violence awareness.  The event was hosted by Housewives of Atlanta’s Nene Leakes, who is a real sweetie pie.  Models fiercely walked the runway wearing the designs of  Bay Area designers Dahae Elyse Kim, Daniel Sudar, Sonar Denim, Mikelsen, Danielle Pette, along with New York Designers Stevie Boi and Devon Tahomas.  It was a real treat to hear the musical talents of Nesta Rae and KimHill, formerly of the Black Eye Peas.  Super Special Shout Out to Lydia Boudain of LKB Photography who assisted  us with the photography on this event.

The beautiful ladies of PN’R Media Group invited us out to the boxing ring.

There we met the former undisputed heavy weight champion of the world, Mike Tyson.  Mike greeted us and other guests with a friendly smile and an easygoing demeanor. Immediately after, we sped across the bridge to catch the final scenes of Baby Jaymes' video for Streets, featuring the Jacka.
